A Christian
photographer faces the New Mexico Supreme Court Monday for refusing to take
pictures of a lesbian commitment ceremony.
The state's
Human Rights Commission ordered photographer Elaine Huguenin to pay the couple
more than $6,000 in attorney fees, saying she had violated the state's
anti-discrimination laws.
Huguenin
filed suit, citing New Mexico's Religious Freedom Restoration Act and federal
law. She said the commission infringed on her Christian faith.
