When First
Lady Christina Murray sees a void, it becomes her mission to fill it.
That was the case when she teamed up with her husband Pastor Anthony
Murray to lead their new age congregation at Oasis Family Life
Church, as well as when she joined forces with other first ladies in Atlanta as
they opened up their lives on TLC’s reality show “The Sisterhood.”
Nowadays
Christina is developing her clothing line, Boss Lady Pink Label,
which spawned from her need to find church clothes to fit her small frame. “I
hated all the good old fashioned church outfits. That’s why they never fit me,
because I’m short. It doesn’t look right on me,” she explained. “I was spending
so much money on getting stuff tailored because I’m short and petite; I decided
I’m going to make my own outfits.”
Boss Lady
Pink Label also includes professional women’s wear. “There’s so many
business women out there that still love fashion, the newest and hottest
trends,” says the Dominican fashionista who contributed to the concept
and design of the line.
Helping
professional women is one of Christina’s main goals and is the focus of her
Boss Lady Network. The network is designed to help women who are entrepreneurs
to accomplish their dreams.
“There
are so many dreams which have been put on hold especially for women just
because they’ve had to take care of their family,” said Christina.
Basketball
fans will get a sneak peek of the new line at the CIAA Tournament in Charlotte
on March 2, while the rest of us will have to wait for the official launch
early this summer.
