Observing Lent

Lent is conventionally described as lasting for forty days, in remembrance of the forty days which, according to the Gospels of MatthewMark and Luke, Jesus spent fasting in the desert before the beginning of his public ministry, where he endured temptation by the Devil.

Yesterday Ash Wednesday marked the beginning of the  lent season for many in the Christian Community. Lent starts every year on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday, the day before Easter Sunday.
Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. The purpose of lent is to observe and reflect on Jesus Christ - his suffering and his sacrifice, his life, death, burial and resurrection.
For what it’s worth I think reflecting on Jesus should be a daily routine, so as to keep us in check and alert for the second coming of Jesus…

Winks..:-)
