North Korean Parents Eat Their Children

"A 'hidden famine” in the farming provinces of North and South Hwanghae is believed to have killed up to 10,000 people and there are fears that incidents of cannibalism have risen."

Last year The London Telegraph reported, "North Korea has publicly executed at least three people in recent years after they were found guilty of cannibalism."
There are numerous media accounts about the poverty and totalitarianism in North Korea. Here is one more tragic anecdote from the Los Angeles Times, "In North Korea, children are bred like livestock in labor camps. They are taught to betray their parents. They are worked to death."

Christian charities are limited in what aid they can provide to North Korea. Some Christians have smuggled aid into the country.
This week Operation World is promoting prayer for Asia.

Praying for ASIA this week. The continent holds...
60% of the world’s population
70% of the world’s Muslims
77% of the world’s Non-religious population
98% of the world’s Buddhists
99% of the world’s Hindus
15% of the world’s Christians
85% of the world’s unevangelized
Home of the majority of the world's most ancient civilizations...
The full gamut of political expression (democracy, republic, monarchy, militocracy, totalitarian regime, and just about everything else)...
Vast diversity in expression of the Church (from ancient beginnings to new in this century)...

Lands and peoples that capture the heart with beauty and vibrance, break the heart with suffering and injustice, and beckon us to pray with faith and hope for all the God will do!
