Bethel House : I Have The Spirit Of Jealousy

Someone sent me this on my mail box...

Hi Bethel,
I am a chorister in my church, I can sing very well but there's this girl who can sing better than I do in terms of skill.. any time she's singing i don't concentrate, I always look out for her flaws..
What made me hate her is our Musical director gives her most of the Solo's to do, she always leads the praise and worship sessions, on a scale of 20, she leads in 19 and it hurts me.. I've tired not to be jealous of her but I can't help it.
I know its a sin, please what can I do to stop this..

First you need to realize that God created you for a purpose and you need to define why you became a member of the choir, what's your motive...

It makes no sense to be jealous of someone or to compare yourself to another person, why would we be jealous that God did not give us a gift intended for another? it wouldn't fit, it will be like giving  size 7 shoes to
a size 10.

It is not that one size is better than another, but that one size fits one person rather than another, so that the full spectrum of God's varied grace may be revealed.

Please note that if you truly want to excel in life, pursue love and seek to learn from one another showing honour...[Romans 12]. If Love is the competition no one loses.

I think you should concentrate on building your spiritual life, so the when you sing the blind will see, the lame will work, the captives will be free, the sick will be healed, the oppressed will be delivered rather than just singing skilfully alone..

What do you think, leave your comments down below...

  1. God doesn't expect you to be perfect but he insists on complete honesty
